Event Supervisor
Serve as onsite supervisor for all aspects of wine tasting event(s) and supervising event hostesses. Responsible for allocating tasks to event hostesses. Assures that event is expedited according to all contract negotiations, hospitality standards and event itinerary. Supervise and participate in the set up and aesthetic maintenance of venue. Track and record guest and employee attendance. Acts as Liaison for Perfect Palate New York in relationship to venue, press, etc. Respond to risk management/emergency situations. Expedite administrative tasks as assigned. Provide inventory control for event materials, food and beverages. Attend all regularly scheduled meetings and/or training. Reports to Senior Event Manager at the beginning and end of each event. Participation in company and public event promotional tasks and/or activities is required.
- Requires a minimum of 4 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
- Requires either wine & spirits, restaurant or hospitality experience
- Preferred event management or planning experience but not necessary
- Requires a genuine interest in wine
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Requires telecommuting
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule

Public Relations Coordinator
Arrange public appearances, lectures, contests, or exhibits to increase company awareness and to promote goodwill. Consult with advertising agencies or staff to arrange promotional campaigns in all types of media. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of community, consumer, employee, and public interest groups. Plan and direct development and communication of informational programs to maintain favorable public and stockholder perceptions. Prepare or edit organizational publications for internal and external audiences, including employee newsletters and stockholders' reports. Respond to requests for information from the media or designate another appropriate spokesperson or information source. Study the objectives, promotional policies and needs of Perfect Palate New York to develop public relations strategies that will influence public opinion or promote ideas, products and services.
Confer with other managers to identify trends and key group interests and concerns or to provide advice on business decisions. Confer with production and support personnel to produce or coordinate production of advertisements and promotions. Purchase advertising space and time as required, to promote company events and services. Plan and conduct market and public opinion research to test services or determine potential for success, communicating results to CEO
- Requires a minimum of 5 years in the field
- Direct experience with developing press releases.
- Knowledge of PR functions and tools.
- Exceptional writing, editing, oral communication and analytical skills.
- Experience with market research and report development.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule.
Wine Tasting Event Hostess
Reports to onsite Event Supervisor and/or Senior Wine Consultant. Greet guests attending the event. Disseminate tasting notes, wine glasses and other materials necessary for conducting the wine tasting. Serve appropriate tasting pours for wine tasting according to tasting menu/itinerary. Describe wines and provide other wine knowledge were necessary. Perform event setup. Attend amiably to the needs of the guests including but not limited to serving beverages, coat check, maintaining cleanliness of venue. Attend all regularly scheduled meetings and training as necessary. Report risk management or emergency situation to Event Supervisor. Participate in promotional events (media or otherwise) and events related to producing promotional materials Provide various tasks as necessary.

Human Resources Assistant
Organize, handle, and file confidential and sensitive material related to human resources issues, including, collective bargaining strategies, performance evaluations, discipline records, payroll deductions, medical files, affirmative action reports and employment verifications. Develop and maintain effective systems for Human Resources office procedures and recordkeeping. Compose and process letters, documents, tables, reports, etc., of a sensitive and confidential nature; compile data and prepare statistical reports. Provide administrative support as requested by the Human Resources Director.
Coordinate communication with internal and external customers, taking messages, making appointments, and provide human resource information in the following areas such as, verification of employment, position posting inquiries, and status of employment selection processes. Assist in developing presentation materials for Human Resources Team as requested. Prepare correspondence, notices, announcements regarding employee activities and programs. Assist in the coordination process for new hires such as preparation of new hire paperwork for orientation, payroll, and setting up new employee files.
Assist in preparing Position Openings for available positions including posting openings in specified advertising sources. Access the management information system for maintenance of employee records, generate reports, and enter Human Resources requisitions. Assist the Director, Human Resources, in conducting research and compiling information for special projects, as requested. Maintain office supplies inventory and equipment; order as necessary
- Requires a minimum of 4 years administrative with 2 years relating to human resources
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, etc
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong interest in the wine industry
